The Birth of Rock and Roll (Dust-to-Digital)

Jim Linderman (author)

April 2015

This book presents an idiosyncratic and unexpected photographic tour of the dawning of the rock and roll impulse. In dance, in church, in couples drinking and cavorting, in music played and listened to, created on the spot and enjoyed within a community. In sex and seduction, embracing the body as creator and responder to rhythm. These were the currents I was working with as I put Jim Linderman’s collection of photographs together into this wonderful volume. It was a treat to work on from the start, and it’s still a treat now as the book launches into the world. Thanks to Lance and April Ledbetter, the very fine folks behind the very fine work of Dust-to-Digital.
